Democrats are to blame for where we are at

Donald Trump announced he was running for president in 2015. No one really took him seriously. Not until he won the GOP bid. Not until he tore down the entire field of Republicans to gain the bid.

After winning the bid, Trump was a wrecking ball. A bull let loose. The party got behind him.

What did the Democrats do?

Gave Hillary Clinton the bid.

I can end the article right here.

I won’t because I have an opinion on this and want to keep going because we have lived through 4 years of unneeded chaos.

Granted, I don’t think we knew how terrible Trump actually was until later in the campaign.

Still. Hillary Clinton. Really?

If you wanted to ride the gender politics wave and elect a woman, why her? Barack Obama oozed president. He is a true president. Whether you like is policies or not, I think we can all agree on that. The man was born for the job.

He was followed by Hillary Clinton.

She wouldn’t know charisma if it smacked her in the face.

The democrats had a chance to follow President Obama with a young and charismatic person. Man or Woman. Any race. They could’ve thrown another moderate progressive in there.

  • I think the country has to be slowly introduced (not guilted or forced into it) to true progressive and socialist politics, but that is a different discussion for another time.

The democrats dropped the ball by nominating someone that in my opinion, personality wise, is just as bad as Trump.

She was too pretentious. She believed she had won the job already.

Yet Trump did what he does best, convince people he is one of them. He appealed to the lost souls of America. The ones who feel like they are not heard.

The ones Hillary called “deplorables”.

The lost years and lost chances we have because the Democratic party couldn’t have the foresight to nominate someone like President Obama is annoying. We had a young, smart, and charismatic leader and then we were given two piles of shit.

The Democratic party will of course always blame the Republicans for everything. Which is fair. They have a different ideology than them, so it is their fault right?

The DNC made a better choice this year with Joe Biden instead of Bernie Sanders. However, they still are missing the one thing that got them the 2008 election.

That young charisma. The young ideological politician who can give a speech and move you. Who inspires you to make change. Who inspires you to care for others. Someone who is for the people, all of the people. Even if they are adamantly against everything you stand for.

President-elect Biden has the ability to bridge the gap for the next generation of Democrats.

However, the Democratic party needs to control their messaging or the Republicans will continue to use fear tactics to keep Americans sided with them when it comes to Senate and House races.

Focusing on moderate politics that can appeal to both sides, the undecided, and trickle in some progressive policies is the key to winning the country.

The current path isn’t looking very bright, but there is always reason to hope and be optimistic.
